A local walk

It's so easy to be lazy, but we can't take this spell of weather for granted, so yesterday we made ourselves do the walk down to the neighbouring town of Fornaci di Barga (cappuccini and dolci are available) and back by a different route.

In the distance, we could see over Barga the highest peak in the Alpi Apuane - Monte Pisanino 1947 m.
On the path down ...
... and down
Several stands of bamboo on the way provide a splash of summer green ...
... while this holly presents a more seasonal splash of red

Busy busy - a worker presents an eerie prospect sandblasting an old conversion
Old and new - electricity cables criss-cross the sky, while the vines are still fixed with bands of golden willow tied in a clever age-old knot
Almost home.  A cascade of woolly cloud pours over the Appennini as we pass out of Barga

  1. oh, those woolly clouds...did they bring snow on the mountain tops?

    1. Very, very little, Pietro. There is none on the Pania, and a light sprinkling on the Appennini. Surely change is gonna come!
