Barga ...

We finally got here on Wednesday 19th after driving part of the way on ordinary roads to avoid heavy traffic.  It was very interesting and gave us our first views of large-scale farming in the Po valley - big dairy farms and huge arable areas being prepared for seeding.

The weather has been OK, but it took until today before the iconic mountain opposite us - the Pania della Croce - revealed its summit completely.

First view of the Garfagna valley, at the headwaters of the River Serchio - Barga still about an hour away
Sunbeams, but no summit ...
... getting better ...
Ahh - the view at sunrise this morning
Villa Buenas Aires in the late afternoon sunlight.  Built by a wealthy Argentine returner in the 1930s.
