Around the 10th November, and the 30th January each winter, Barga witnesses (weather permitting) the "Doppio Tramonto" when the the sun appears to set twice as it passes behind the natural arch on Monte Forato opposite our house.
Yesterday, we went up to the duomo to see the show, but the small amount of cloud was in just the wrong place, so the double sunset didn't happen this time. There was however a wonderful sunset all the same, enjoyed by the faithful few who stayed until dusk fell.
